Since a couple of days, i am really more into my own blog and I start to think about something: How did I start blogging? And why did I start this? And I start to think that I might not be the only one that had struggles with this topic. Maybe I can help other people to set up their own blog? I had to do a lot of researches to find out how to set up my own blog and what to say in it. So today is the day that i will start a series of posts about how to start a blog; your blog.
How To Start A Blog – The Basics
The Free Way Using Blogger
There is a simple way how to start a blog fast. For free and so easily. To do so, there is 2 sites that I recommend for you. For the first one, go on blogger.com, sign up on that platform and start blogging. Through this platform you will be able to edit everything, from your theme (the background and fundamentals of your blog) to the plugins that you will use to connect with others (social media Icon, images, videos, calendar, etc). That platform will requires some investigation for your own knowledge and you might take some times to learn what to do with. But, as soon as you enter your blog name, your good to go, you can start posting and edit pages. The basic blog that they give you is ready to go!
The Free Way Using WordPress
The second one is WordPress.com. Again just subscribe to it, put a name to your blog and you good to go! This one is a little less complete if you are not paying for it. Inside the WordPress platform, you will only be able to customize your theme (or buy a new one), you will have imposed widget (no downloadable plugins), but you will be ready to go to write your first post.
The Paid Way – Your Domain Name
Now, what about the paid way to create your blog? In this case you will need to buy “Domain Name”. What is a domain name? This name goes between the “www” and the “.com” like: www.yourdomainnamehere.com. Where exactly can you buy that kind of thing and what is the usual cost of it? Well, for myself, I’m buying all my domain names from “Go Daddy”. They are not the cheapest one but the customer service is simply amazing (and the prices are reasonable too, around $10 per year for one name). So again, just go to godaddy.com and sign up in their platform and find a name that will reflect what you want to talk about in your blog. If you are talking about dogs, cause it’s your passion, don’t take something like: “infomarktingblueprint,com”. And try to be specific in your name. If you are talking about one breed of dog, take that breed and stick some words around it as “thebestbulldogtraining.com”.
The Paid Way – Hosting? Let Me Explain
Then when you have your domain name, you need an hosting company. What’s an hosting company? Those are enterprises that bought a lot of servers and that rent you some spaces on them so your site/blog can be online 24/7. There is “webhost.com”, “bluehost.com”, “gvo.com”, and many more but the one I use for myself is “hostgator.com” because again, the customer service is great and the platform is easy to use. Inside Hostgator’s system, you will find everything you need to create a real WordPress blog. But this time, that blog will be totally customizable. With this one you can use plugins for everything that you need: slideshow, files manager, more option in your visual post and pages bar,etc… Everything you need to create your own personalize blog. Plus you will have plenty of options to work with like SEO helps, free backups, an one-click sitemap, and more that you will discover with time!
How To Start A Blog – Now What?
Now that you know how to start a blog, I would suggest that you start to create one important page: The “YOU” page (about me, my life, any name you want to give it). See, no matter what you want to do with this blog (talking about dog, selling T.V., do network marketing, anything) people want to know YOU. Who are you? Where do you come from? Why did you chose to talk about that subject? Go as deep in your life as you can, just like if it was a reality show like Jersey Shore, American Idol or America’s Next Top Model. People are passionate by little details. They need to connect with the real you. And with the big changes that are coming on earth (economically, spiritually and else), fake stuff and fake people won’t be tolerated no more. I took almost ten days to write mine, and it was not perfect as I wanted too, so I took it down for now till I feel it right (if you see the about me section right now, go take a look and see how much personal things I can talk about)
Blogging – The Reason Why
When I did my little research to do this post, I asked people about what they were looking for. And the main answer after how to start a blog fast was: Why should I start blogging? My answer to this is simple: What do you want to do with this blog?
In this sphere of action there is 2 way to think of about your blog. If your passionate by dogs, do you want to; Sell some dog’s item like collars or clothes? Do you want to express how much you love them and only talk about the color of their fur, eyes or else? Do you want to talk about how to train them? Do you want to sell courses on how to train them? See where I’m going?
there is three main reasons why people wants to know how to start a blog. To inform other people, to monetize something, or both! And you? What do you want to do with your new toy? The best way to see it for me is to monetize it while giving a lot of informations about the niche that you are in. Let’s keep talking about dog! Why don’t you give tips and tricks on “how to train (old, puppy, mid age, police, any kind) dogs, and sell on your blog your own full course on “how to train a dog in any way 
possible. This way, you always can drop some fresh materials to your readers and every post become a gateway to sell something you liked, love, or made for them! It’s exactly this way that you will build your brand “Your Name” just like a lot of people like Ray Higdon and Gary Vaynerchuk. Those two are masters on blogging!
